Practise short goodbyes A quick, cheerful goodbye at the gate helps more than a long one.
Talk about school at home Mention the teacher, the toys and the tiffin, so the place feels familiar.
Practise the tiffin Let your child open the tiffin box and water bottle by themselves.
Keep a steady sleep time A rested child settles better in the morning.
Label everything Bag, bottle, tiffin and jumper: little things get mixed up.
Expect a few tears The first weeks can be emotional. Most children settle with time and routine.
